Install in three steps
- Open DesignMyMac.dmg from your Downloads.
- Drag DesignMyMac onto Applications.
- Open DesignMyMac from Applications or Spotlight. The first time, macOS may say it can’t verify the app: open System Settings → Privacy & Security, scroll down, click Open Anyway, then Open.
Then, in the app
- Sign in — with Google or email, right inside the app.
- Allow access — onboarding asks for each permission it needs and says why.
- Describe a mood — pick one of three directions, review it, and Apply. Restore anytime with ⇧⌘R.
Questions
Is DesignMyMac free?
Yes. Download it, sign in and design your Mac. AI designs have a fair daily limit.
Which Macs does it run on?
Any Mac with Apple silicon or Intel on macOS 14 Sonoma or later.
Will it change my Mac without asking?
No. Every change is previewed first and applied only after you approve it. Your original wallpaper, icons and folders are backed up, and Restore (⇧⌘R) puts them back.
Why does it ask for permissions?
Folders so it can give them new artwork, Automation to switch Light/Dark and show what's playing, and Calendars or Reminders only if you add those widgets. Onboarding explains each one, and nothing leaves your Mac except what you ask the AI to design.
