How to customize the Mac Dock
In System Settings › Desktop & Dock you can change the Dock's size, magnification, position and auto-hide. Apple's Dock can't be recoloured or re-iconed as a set, so DesignMyMac adds its own themed Dock — any colour, any size, with painted icons for every app — and you can switch back to Apple's Dock anytime.
The built-in way
- Open System Settings › Desktop & Dock.
- Adjust Size and Magnification, choose Position on screen (left, bottom or right).
- Turn on “Automatically hide and show the Dock” for more space.
- Drag apps in or out of the Dock to change what's pinned.
What it can't do
- You can't change the Dock's colour or material.
- Icons stay whatever each app ships with.
- Extra tweaks (like spacers) need Terminal commands.

Does the DesignMyMac Dock replace Apple's Dock permanently?
No. It only stands in while DesignMyMac runs, and you can return to Apple's Dock from its menu at any time.
Can I change the Dock colour?
Not in macOS itself. In DesignMyMac, Tune › Icons & Dock › Dock colour sets it independently.
Do window controls work in the DesignMyMac Dock?
Yes, after you allow Accessibility so it can show, minimise and switch windows.
Does it change my files?
No. DesignMyMac only changes how things look — wallpaper, icons, folders' appearance, the Dock, widgets and window styling.
Can I undo everything?
Yes. You approve every change, originals are backed up first, and ⇧⌘R restores your previous look.
